CI fails on a lint rule that didn't exist yesterday

A practical fix and a copyable AI coding prompt. Replace bracketed placeholders with your project details.

1. Check the problem

A library update, often `eslint-plugin-react-hooks`, added a new rule, don't suppress it globally. Fix the violations, usually 5-10 lines, it's catching a real anti-pattern. Only disable it per line, with a comment, if it's genuinely wrong.

2. Use the prompt

CI is failing on a lint rule that wasn't there yesterday: [paste the rule and error]. Don't disable it globally. Explain what the rule catches, then fix each violation in my code. Only if the rule is genuinely wrong for this code, disable it per-line with a comment explaining why.

3. Verify the fix

Review the proposed diff, run the relevant checks and exercise the original failing flow before merging.
